24/3/09 - Tuesday

worked from 7.30am-6.30pm, went to cocktail reception at hotel Negresco till 7.30pm before going to Au Vioux Four for staff dinner. It is a local restaurant serving pizzas and pasta (they are famous for their Italian pizza). The people in the restaurant "stared" at us when we went in, must be that they have never seen Chinese eating there before...

wall colour of hotel corridor; and they have weird smelling air-refreshener too.

hotel Negresco, landmark hotel in Nice

Hotel lobby

can u see the angels on the glass ceiling? cocktail reception area~

i like their lift, classic old lift whereby u have to open the door yourself.
inside the lift. Walls are of velvet cushion material
Photos below are taken while exploring different level of the hotel, different concept for all levels.

this portrait is contains crystals. Couldnt capture its original state completely.

canapes

free-flow beer, white + red + rose wine and other beverages for 1 hour

Female toilet door.
interior of the female toilet, girly, like a girl's bedroom in Victorian times.

Leaving Hotel Negresco for staff dinner. The restaurant is located at some street after Le Port (places whereby the rich park their yachts & boats). This time, it is the same cute & honest cab driver who fetched us there. Reason why I say he is honest is because he shows us the cab meter and did not round up the cab fare.
the interior of the restaurant..cozy feel~

forgot what is this drink called. syrup that tastes like Ribena is added to lousy white wine to mask the taste. too sweet for me..
some pasta, not that nice...

the pizza is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! home-made thin crust, baked in traditional oven with charcoal.. like those u read about in Enid Blyton's books.
